Ron Wenzel employs palette knives to capture color and light in his oil paintings in the traditional Impressionist and Fauve art styles.
After graduating from Pratt Institute in 1965 with a degree in industrial design, he developed an award-winning design practice, focusing on product and packaging.
In 2009, he began painting classes with Paul Olsen at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence and later focused on color and light principles with Hilda Neily at the Cape Cod School of Art Provincetown, MA.
His work has been exhibited and won awards throughout Rhode Island. As a member of the South Coast Artists, Inc., he has participated in its annual artist tour since 2012.
